The Minority Education Initiative (MEI), is a non- profit organization, made up of educators, policymakers, professionals in the public and private sector and other individuals committed to ensuring that secondary and post-secondary educational opportunities are appropriate and accessible to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.The mission of MEI is to increase awareness, access, and actualization of a college degree for minorities as a means of improving quality of life. Through workshops, trainings, and conferences we hope to bring attention to this important topic.

The "PBI Grant Closeout Workshop" is virtual intense one and a half day training to enhance the skills and expertise of project directors, staff and supporting administrative personnel employed at institutions across the nation as they prepare to closeout their Predominantly Black Institutions Program - Competitive Grants. This event will bring U.S. Department of Education representatives and national experts face to face with all PBI grantees. We will also host a PBI Proposal Info Session and dedicate half a day to Department of Education updates and PBI New Award Overview for those institutions looking to participate in the upcoming grant competition.
